Yay another random post for your enjoyment to fill up my 3 posts per week quota, been doing well lately so I can’t let it slip! Maybe I’ve gotten my blogging mojo back..or not?! Who knows, anyway I enjoy these Random old-style blog posts and I hope you do to.
It’s a welcome break for me from my rather formal, complete and exhaustive style of writing which tends to take far too many hours to craft a post of which I deem acceptable quality. This way of posting is of course much much faster, must thank the uptake of Twitter and Twitpic for giving me my memory back and providing me with pics to illustrate!
Anyway I was down in Ampang a couple of weekends ago so I took the chance to go for the original Ampang Yong Tau Fu at Foong Foong. It was indeed delicious, super-love their fried sui gau.
I was also glad to see a Tesco opening in my area, which finally means I don’t have to pay toll to go grocery shopping! It was brought to me courtesy of the newly opened Kepong Village Mall, which is extremely near to my place – yay!
There’s not a whole lot of shops there, but it has what is important (KFC and A&W) and there’s an MBO cinema opening there soon – so that’s another option for me to watch movies. The Tesco is huge too and exactly the same layout as the one I’m familiar with in Mutiara Damansara – which is great as I won’t get lost!
The other important news of the moment is of course…IT’S DURIAN SEASON – so had to eat some creamy delicious durians of course.
Also whilst looking at a stove around PJ, I stumbled across this tiny little burger truck in a back road behind digital mall…the name somehow struck me as familiar – Jackson’s Burgers! So we immediately stopped to give it a try.
Sadly only after I left people on Twitter also told me this inconspicuous little stall also serves up tasty crab burgers! Will have to venture back and find it again.
Something else interesting I saw on my travels was this epically evil looking cat which somehow reminded me of gollum.
I wish #emocharlie was there so he could have beaten it up, or nomed it..but then looking at his face, I don’t think that would have happened, do you?
I also tried this Macadamia Brittle Cheesecake at Delicious in 1U and it was very nais!
And just to introduce you to one of my favourite breakfast dishes EVAR, apparently called ‘Roti Tampal’ but I just call it ‘Roti Canai Tambah Telur Mata’ which in hindsight seems rather inefficient. Of course it needs to be served up with a super kau kopi ais!
I actually learnt about eating this when I was stationed in Brunei, it’s rather a staple at the breakfast table over there.
Anyway that’s the end for now, have a great weekend.
