This one is for all the geeks, if you’ve been into tech for a long time you’ve probably heard of Cliff Stoll and his book The Cuckoo’s Egg and his paper Stalking The Wiley Hacker.
PBS made “Nova” dramatization of his book starring Cliff himself called “The KGB, CIA, Computer and Me”, and someone has finally uploaded it to Youtube!.

Clifford Stoll: 18 minutes with an agile mind
Excellent find, I remember watching this back in the 80’s when it first aired. This was one of the main seed to me getting into computers and networking.
Like hanuman there was a pivotal moment when I decided to go into Comp Sci.
It was this 1995 movie called Hackers which has no solid networking principals whatsoever, but plenty of Hollywood glamorization. I even bought the book (which is essentially the screenplay in novel format).
Please, no snickering.
hanuman: Yah it’s a great watch, haven’t seen it for years.
Huai Bin: Hahaha, mine was when I got hacked and someone deleted all my downloaded warez because I had NetBIOS over TCP/IP enabled. Hackers is not a bad movie actually (young Angelina in leather pants = yespls) and the sequel is of course horrific. So far there no really good hacking film, Antitrust is not bad, Swordfish and the best IMHO is Sneakers. A new one just came out though so I have to check that out “Girl with a Dragon Tattoo”.
Thanks for the upload!!!
I was just looking for this and you showed up on Google 3 days after the post….
Sweeet!!
