Day two was up early in the morning at 8.30am, breakfast at the hotel and off out to the boat for some island hopping! We were going to go rock climbing first, but due to the tide we decided to go and see Thale Waek (Separated Sea) which is joined at low tide and see the rest of the islands after rock climbing.
The weather was pretty grey, but we still had fun on the way across.
It was pretty dramatic – you can see how clear the water is!
The weather got a little better as we reached Thale Waek, the beach was covered in driftwood though.
This is the place where you can actually walk between the islands on a sand bank during low tide.
You can see the string of people all the way across.
After that I had a wonder round the small island and took some pictures.
Playing in the sand.
After the intermission for Rock Climbing (which I’ll cover in a separate post tomorrow) we headed back out to the ocean to check out the remaining 3 islands.
The weather still wasn’t ideal – but not bad.
The beach was covered in driftwood again but beautiful nevertheless.
This is Chicken Island – you can probably guess how it got it’s name.
After that a spot of snorkeling, the water was crammed with Tiger Fish!
Matthew Ong – host for the Breakfast show.
We had dinner at the only Muslim restaurant/hotel in Krabi (Ao Nang Princeville Resort)…then had a wonder around the market.
It’s pretty standard stuff, trinkets, jewelry, sandals, clothes, shorts, shirts, hats, sunglasses and so on. Plenty of tailors too of course and DVD’s, plus whiskey everywhere! There’s not as much shopping as Phuket, but then that’s not why you go to Krabi…and still nothing can beat Bangkok for shopping.
After that of course a Thai Massage! It’s really cheap at 200 Baht per hour (RM20 per hour!) normal price in KL is at least 65-85RM per hour. Especially as it’s not yet peak season, you can get an Aloe Vera massage for only RM25 per hour (250 Baht) where the normal price is 450 Baht!)
Watch out for Rock Climbing – coming tomorrow!
