You know you travel too much…

When your appt starts looking like this all the time, these 3 pictures were taken on 3 different occasions (July October and November).

Messier

Messy

Not so messy

Yeah guess which was taken with SLR..obviously not the one with an SLR in the frame eh? Smart..

Thankfully I don’t have to travel like that any more…so things are much tidier now 🙂

As I’ve said before, living out of hotels is really not as glamorous as it seems.

You should check my archives for some of the places I’ve traveled in the last 2-3 years.

I actually started this post when I was away in Brunei.

Cool Stuff for Your Phone!

Well having just moved to a phone that can actually install applications and stuff (My new Nokia E61i) it’s cool to have some games, tones and wallpapers to install.

Of course there are the huge international sites with millions of downloads, but I reckon we should support the local guys. This is where Acme Mobile comes in and their Amob site.

Acme Mobile is Southeast Asia’s premiere distributor of mobile entertainment products.

Acme distributes a selection of the world’s best mobile games, images, themes, tones and videos through our select network of carrier decks, portals and media companies, reaching hundreds of millions mobile subscribers across 12 Asian countries.

You can find Amob here and download some cool stuff for your phone:

https://www.amob.com/my/en/

If you want to download directly on your phone you can browse to wap.amob.com and grab the stuff from there.

Macro Outing to TTDI (Taman Tun Dr Ismail) – Taman Rimba Kiara

Went out with a few guys for bug chasing in Taman Tun! Just behind the temple at Taman Rimba Kiara, sadly there was a downpour the WHOLE night before so the place was soaked and the bugs were pretty scarce.

Half of the group got bored and went somewhere else instead.

But we stuck it out and found some really interesting stuff, namely the largest robber fly I’ve ever seen, a few decent spiders and 5-6 different varieties of Dragonfly!

Apologies for Down-Time

Site was down for almost 48 hours! Terrible indeed.

The hard-drive failed, and the data recovery process was a long and arduous one, thankfully nothing was lost.

The site was up and down last night due to the data recovery running the processor load very high so sometimes the Database wasn’t accessible.

Now it’s back though, yay!

A lot of things to catch up with, and almost lost a Reviewme opp! Just 1 hour left to submit I managed to get it done, phew.

Also took the chance to upgrade the OS, the management system and everything else, so it should be more stable and slightly faster now.

Anyway better catch up with the other stuff.

My New Pocket Buddy – Nokia E61i

Couldn’t stand the K750i any more, after replacing the screen once, it’s starting to fail again.

Plus the inconsistent USB connection to the PC for syncing, plus the fact it just resets sometimes, sometimes turns itself off, sometimes doesn’t ring when people call..

I liked the look of the E61, but not enough to buy it, it was kind of ugly, and lacked a simple camera for quick blog shots like funny things seen when walking around without a camera.

The Nokia brought out the E61i, it looks sexy, full metal, with a 2 megapixel camera so I bit the bullet and got myself one, after being a long time Sony Ericsson advocate…I have to say the software and features from the E61i are much better than what SE provides. The P990 is so much more expensive, and so much worse.

Nokia E61i

I’ve crossed back over to my roots, back to Nokia!

Nokia E61i

It’s a sexy gorgeous phone and surfing with Wifi on your phone with a massive 16.7 million colour screen is sweet indeed. I’ve been wanting a PDA kinda smart phone thingy for a while, but I always wanted something more phone and less PDA, this seems the ideal balance.

Nokia E61i

If only it had a slightly better camera and GPS it’d be perfect! It has GPS capability with a bluetooth GPS module, so that’s pretty cool as you just have to have the Nokia GPS unit or a Garmin unit within Bluetooth range and it’ll work just fine.

The interface is nice and easy to use, Symbian isn’t the most responsive OS ever but it’s fast enough.

Don’t worry more Kharu coming soon 🙂

The Many Faces of Kharusinia Jazmin – Part I

Over the weekend I had the honour of spending some more time with Manuel Librodo Jr. and his beautiful Filipina muse Kharu, we shot on location in a Bungalow at Mines resort.

The bungalow produces operas so had some fantastic costumes and Kharu had some great costumes and accessories of her own.

This is the first early morning set.

Movie Review – Wild Hogs – Good for a Laugh

Wild Hogs

Four middle-aged men (Tim Allen, John Travolta, Martin Lawrence, William H. Macy) decide to take a road trip from Cincinnati to the Pacific in order to get away from their lives which are leading them nowhere. Taking their motorcycles, these “Wild Hogs” tear up the road and eventually stop in New Mexico for a drink not knowing that the bar belongs to the “Del Fuegos”, a mean biker gang.

Quite a few people had been mentioning this movie, so I thought it might be worth a watch. I took the opportunity of the Spiderman 3 rush to watch the movie in relative peice.

Everyone else was clammering for spidey tickets, I’ll watch that later in the week I think.

Wild Hogs is a fairly simple brainless movie about 4 guys having mid-life crisis and wanting to get away from their tepid suburban lives.

The humour is fairly slapstick and not much is required of the actors, but they do a good enough job with William H Macy predictably playing a geek, Ray Liotta as the bad guy and Marisa Tomei looking suitably hawt!

The movie was fun with some good cinematography, there could have been a bit more variety in the scenery, but even so some of the it was simply breathtaking.

Wild Hogs

There was a bit of a cheesy undertone towards the end, but all in all it’s a fun movie, a good popcorn muncher, don’t expect anything deep or moving.

Do expect toilet humour, slapstick and good chemistry between the 4 leads. No one really stole the screen.

I’d give it a healthy 6/10, but perhaps wait for the DVD.
