No Fuss Chicken Fajitas by Old El-Paso – Tex-Mex at Home!

Sometimes I love to have some good tex-mex food, fakeplan americanised mexican food.

Something akin to what Chili’s and TGIF serve on a daily basis, sometimes I just don’t want to go out though and I certainly don’t want to spend a small fortune.

If you want something similar you can go to Cold Storage or somewhere and grab the dinner kit.

No Fuss Fajitas

You can follow the instructions pretty much exactly, they are accurate, add a touch of your own if you wish, I always do 🙂

You also need to buy a couple of chicken breasts, some bell peppers and some big white onions, I always add some garlic too.

If you want to go the whole hog, get some nice crunchy lettuce and a block of cheddar cheese.

You can just chop the peppers and onions julienne and dice the chicken into evenly sized chunks.

Chicken Peppers Onion

Pan fry the onions with a bit of garlic until they are nice and soft, you don’t have to fry until brown, retain a bit of texture.

When they are ready toss in the chicken and cook it through.

Onions and Chicken

When the chicken is cooking put the powder from the kit in and when the chicken is pretty much done, throw the peppers in.

Chicken Fajitas

I usually add a little Tabasco sauce during this time to add a little kick.

During this last stage you can heat another pan (without oil) and heat up the fajitas themselves.

Fajitas

Around this time you can grate the cheese, wash and prepare the lettuce and pour the salsa provided into a small bowl.

And get the plates and spoons etc ready for serving.

Finished Fajitas

After that you are ready to eat!

Put the salad first, then the chicken mix, then the cheese then the salsa, then wrap it up and enjoy!

Fajita

Beautiful fresh home cooked fajitas!

    Cool! or rather, hot 😉
Highly recommend the new Habanero Tabasco, triple the heat with double the flavour – really good for those of us with pre-singed taste buds!

spiller: Can’t remember off hand dude, less than 20 bucks I think. Anyone know?

Intensecure: I’ve got that one too bro but I don’t really like it, it is very hot I admit but I find the spiciness overpowered and it’s not so tasty. I still prefer the original for taste.
