Continue Reading · 22 Comments · General NonsenseIt’s two years since I’ve been filling the Internet with my bullshit, amazing eh?
It was October 19th 2004 when I wrote my first proper post on bBlog, time flies eh?
I e-mailed a few people and got comments on my first post, teh awesome!
I got deep into bBlog and even did some development for them, the whole thing was setup with Textpad, Paintshop Pro and hard work!
I moved to WordPress January 1st 2006, earlier this year, so it’s been about 10 months with WordPress.
I do suggest going back through my archives and reading my earlier posts as I was a bit crazy then so it was interesting, you can see how varied my posts are aswell and how inconsistent they were, I used to write a lot about my personal life and about 5-6 different things in one post a-la-lainie style.
Of course I also wrote some great posts, but not all the time 😛 Some memorable ones from the first two months would be…
Anyway happy birthday to me blog, it’s getting older..and hopefully better!
This year has loads of good posts, but you’ve probably read em all so no point linking those 😉 You can check them out on the archives page or just look at the most popular posts page for an idea on what people like.
I hope you all enjoy my blog as much as I enjoy writing it, even though I kinda run out of things to say sometimes, I thank you muchos all my commenters and readers for giving me the incentive to write.
Even if you are a silent violet just drop a comment on this post so I know you are there.
I forgot to post this earlier in the day, I’m having some kinda flu thing because of my dust allergy and the haze so I sleep most the time and the rest I feel like I’m gonna itch my eyes out and put them in the fridge.
Nice!

Continue Reading · 48 Comments · Site NewsYou might remember about a year ago when I was in Brunei I reviewed the Pixart Coffeetable Book.
Well they mailed me a while ago to let me know they’ve released a new cute small version called the pocket book.
The featues are touted as:
Pixart is a local company so that’s why I support them, they also actually listened to the feedback we gave last time and worked towards improving their product from the standpoint of the consumer, not just turning bigger profits.
I have to respect their commitment to providing a quality product.
I liked the small size aswell as I’m taking up photography seriously I can keep it in my camera bag as a portable porfolio of some of my best shots.
The software was easy enough to use and install apart from the odd fact I had to install .NET version 1.1 when I already have .NET 2.0 installed! Dominic said the Pixart team is looking into this.
The first stage is getting the pictures, which is quite easy but definately the most time consuming part, it’s easier if you know what you want and put them all in a folder..I was picking my favourite from all over the place, but I had most of them in mind so it wasn’t too hard.
After that you can create the cover, remember to put the least important or detailed picture in the middle as it will be across the spine.

Continue Reading · 25 Comments · General NonsenseThe first day I went to Peninsular Plaza near City Hall MRT stop to buy camera stuff, which no one would be interested in so I’ll post it at DigiSniper 🙂
Do you care if I got a Giotto rocket air blower?!
The second day I went with my Mom to Chinatown as it’s hustle and bustle, bright colours and lantern festival should be interesting, along with some good food you can find there.
Well here we are, alighting at Chinatown MRT station, diving into the heart of Chinatown in Singapore at Pagoda Street and following the tourism boards recommendation for a walk around Chinatown to take in the interesting sites.
First real outing with the new D200 🙂
Singapore, a Fine City (You get fined for all kinds of things, like not flushing the toilet, eating chewing gum etc..)
Lanterns lanterns everywhere, the lantern festival at Bukit Jalil heralded nicer lanterns of course.

Yes I got out of Manila and came straight to Singapore to meet my Mom.
It’s really hard shooting with two prime (fixed) lenses, 50mm and 90mm. I tried a super wide angle lens in Peninsular Plaza yesterday too, oh I love it..10-20mm.
We tramped around Chinatown today, pretty interesting place. A bit commercialised nowadays though like everything else.
Mom!
Pagoda Street and the Hindu Temple, some mad stuff going today with people walking on coals.
Must sleep now almost 3am zzz, headache.

Continue Reading · 23 Comments · Photography, Singapore, Trips & TravelAfter our walk I suggested we headed up to the top of the hill to catch the sunset over the bay, here I captured some of my favourite pictures of all time, including my number 1 all time favourite!
A couple I took from the car window on the drive up.

Continue Reading · 17 Comments · Photography, Trips & Travel, UKWell after lazing around on the terrace all day we went for a walk along to the harbour and down towards the beach (the opposite direction from Butlins!) to get away from the people and get a bit of fresh air and exercise.
It was a nice walk, along by the harbour, the lifeboat station and down along the beach.

Continue Reading · 20 Comments · Photography, Trips & Travel, UKI still have quite a few posts from UK, so back to normal service again for a while, until I decide to whinge about the stupid SE K750i I bought in January that now doesn’t work because the screen is totally white…and the LCD warranty is only for 1 MONTH, yes I just found out today when I looked at the back of the warranty card..
Anyway, whilst I was in UK I suggested to my Mom we pop down to my Aunt’s cottage in Minehead, Minehead is a small coastal village towards the south of Bristol in UK. You can read more HERE.
We had beautiful weather thankfully and it was a incredibly relaxing couple of days, the first day we did nothing, we just sat on the terrace, had lunch Al Fresco and enjoyed a good bottle of wine.
My Aunt’s cottage is a quaint little place build into a rock hill, the back is actually joined to the hill it’s ancient and she spent a lot of money fixing it up, it’s really beautiful now.
She has a new neighbour too, this is their dog Jessie a beautiful Golden Retriever.
The stairs up to the terrace.

Continue Reading · 14 Comments · Trips & Travel, UKI replaced my window on Monday afternoon, it took quite a while as there was a small but deep dent where they had used something to rip the window out and smash the corner and it was raining..
The total cost was RM880, a nice number…but shit almost 1k to replace the fscking window!
That’s one of the disadvantages of having a 3 door car, the rear windows are thick and curved and cost a small fortune..
Have to replace my camera now too, I’ve decided I’ll get the D200, it’s a solid camera and it should last me a good 2-3 years so I think it’s worth a bit of extra investment.
*Sigh*
Imagine if everyone from the last post who commented gave me RM10, I’d have more than enough already 😀
I’m still a bit depressed, but still it’s only material and everything can be replaced/fixed. No one was hurt and nothing intagible was lost.
But yah if anyone wants to make donations to my new camera fund feel free!
Let’s all learn the lesson anyway, lot’s of reports have been made about thefts and car break-ins in the SS2 area, so be very wary, people’s cars have been broken into just for a nasi lemak in a black bag as someone thought it was valuable..Cameras and laptops have been stolen in seconds outside ATM machines and at petrol stations whilst people paid.
Criminals are desperate and ruthless, please don’t give them a chance like I did as they will take it.
I’ll be off to Philippines AGAIN on Monday for about a week I think, not sure if I’ll get to do anything interesting this time 🙂
Will charge the old powershot A70 and get him rolling!
