Was at a bit of a loss when it came to what to do towards the end of the holiday as Mom has been here before, and we’d done most things, so she suggested the Butterfly park (Taman Rama-Rama in Malay), and off we went.
The entrance is about RM12-15 each, and RM2 for your camera!
It’s a lush green jungle, it’s enchanting as soon as you walk in. The Butterfly Park houses some 6,000 butterflies of over 120 species. The park is an imitation of the butterfly’s natural habitat. It includes more than 15,000 plants from 100 species that have been used to recreate a Malaysian rainforest atmosphere
This is a huge moth, there was quite a lot of these.
There is actually butterflies everywhere, not like the crappy ‘butterfly park’ in Malacca, this place has thousands, literally.
Obligatory ‘gay pose’.
Definately a good place if you are into Macro photography.
There’s a large water piece running through the middle with massive Koi and a Tortoise section.
Love this picture.
It also has a very nice indoor section with a massive collection of weird insects from monster beetles to weird stick insects (dead and alive variants!).
Definately a fairly interesting place to spend an afternoon 🙂
Relaxing and interesting.
Actually the activity of butterfly is very much dependant on the weather and time of the day. You went to this one the right time and the melaka park at the wrong time I guess. but they do have a stupid talking bird in melaka butterfly park that was the fun!
omg. the moths are HUGE!!
i don’t think i’ll look at butterflies the same way again. creepy.
omg. the tortoise are HUGE!!
i wish mine died before it actually grow up to be as big as those. hrm. how big is their tortoise dung?
been there once and love it. might consider goin there for a second time
we should all go there together-gether one day and camwhore.
Just how big is that moth? I’m curious.
can we picnic there? 😛
damn and we locals dont even go there

KY: Yah that’s true, depends on the season too.
Chuang Shyue Chou: A bit bigger than the size of the palm of your hand.
spiller: Yah there was a small seated area in the middle, very nice.
yothemans.com: Ok lah, quite worth it.
that place looks tite as shit
That large moth is quite scary. I think I would have to skip round that particular bit eugh
Thanks! Just the size of the palm. Without a frame of reference, it did seem a lot larger.
