A Poem From Africa
When I born, I Black
When I grow up, I Black
When I go in sun, I Black
When I scared, I Black
When I cold, I Black
When I sick, I Black
When I ill, I Black
When I die, I still Black
And you white fella
When you born, you pink
When you grow, you white
When you go in sun, you red
When you scared, you yellow
When you cold, you blue
When you sick, you green
And when you die, you gray
And you calling ME Coloured?
(An old one but a good one nevertheless)
Memorable =)
I skipped it the first time around but now that I’ve read it, man, it’s pretty damn good ^_^
I dont know if it was from africa, but it was a statement used in one of the hearings in U.S. when they black were fighting segregation.
maybe it was the the Martin Luther King court speech or something.
it’s not from Africa but Australia, the line “you white fella” gives that away.
Thanks heaps for posting it I have been searching for it to give to an aboriginal friend having heard it many years ago.
Does anyone know who the original author of this is and when it was written?
