Well during the day we went shopping at 1-Utama, so not really any interesting pictures or happenings in the day. During the evening though we headed to a great Thai Seafood Restaurant in Sungei Buloh called De Chiengmai.
If you want to go there, go to the end of the LDP just past Bandar Sri Damansara, at the end take a left, as if you were going towards Sungei Buloh/Damansara Damai or the NKVE junction, once on that road keep going straight all the way until you see The Store on your right, then make a U-turn. After the U-turn take an immediate left up a bridge just after the petrol station. After you pass a few nurseries take the left with a long sweeping corner, keep going straight on this road, you’ll pass lots of small Tom Yam restaurants and houses, and De Chiengmai will be on your left.
It started off as a humble shack on a dusty corner in the area of Sungei Buloh that used to be the lepers colony, the area with all the nurseries.
Now they have this huge mansion and outside they grow their own vegetables and herbs.
The menu is pretty extensive and they have a good selection of food, even though they have moved to this huge place they are not really much more expensive than previously, which is in fact very reasonable! Will set you back around 15-25RM per person depending on what you eat.
This is a vegetable and prawn dish, quite mild with no spices as my Mom was there, needed to order some less spicy dishes.
They are a Thai restaurant so of course the Tom Yam is GREAT, although a little spicy for some people.
Of course they have some normal vegetable dishes too, of which they grow their own veges, cool eh?
This is Thai style otak-otak, which I have to say is REALLY really tasty and goes down perfectly with some steaming hot white rice.
This is the Pandan Leaf Chicken (which originates from Thailand, generally anything cooked with Pandan leaves originates from Thailand), which is a little spicy but good.
Then they have a serve yourself dessert kind of thing with all the normal culprits.
I recommend trying it, very good place to eat.

Pat: Go ahead man, better than that expensive place by Victoria Station..and site? Haha it’s Malaysia man, no way!
choon: It’s pretty hard to give directions how to get there..if you aren’t familiar with area at least, and streetmap.com.my doesn’t work any more 🙁
Kuzco: Yah my new K705c, I haven’t blogged about it yet, I will do later when I’ve fully tested it for a few months.
I was like looking for it after it was forced to move away for the road clearing to the new Sg. Buloh Hospital. Thanks!
Even back then at the old place, it was already kinda expensive to eat there. But a friend of mine think their tom yam is heavenly.
Slurrp…
