Ok so my host has been having some problems with the current data center, so we are shifting the boxes to another data center, I’ve told them exactly how to do it, to negate any down time, or desynch in data.
The current transfer is from 12th June, so it’s now 3 days out of date.
Those posts on my site and those hosted by my service https://www.malaysiablogs.com would be lost, so I’ve asked them to do it a different way, it should be fine.
It was supposed to be transferred overnight, last night, but it wasn’t, they were busy, so it should be done this morning, then Suan and I can update again, yay!
If you are technically inclined ping shaolintiger.com
If you see:
C:\Documents and Settings\Administrator>ping shaolintiger.com
Pinging shaolintiger.com [69.61.45.98] with 32 bytes of data:
Reply from 69.61.45.98: bytes=32 time=271ms TTL=48
Reply from 69.61.45.98: bytes=32 time=271ms TTL=48
It’s the old server
If you see:
C:\Documents and Settings\Administrator>ping shaolintiger.com
Pinging shaolintiger.com [64.92.172.122] with 32 bytes of data:

It’s the new server, so post a comment or sommat 😛
Got the old server. time = 113ms(average), ttl = 50(average).
huh?? what???
*Sigh*
Euro ISP’s own me..
Don’t confuse yourself dearest.
Its the new server ip now. Only thing is that ping time varies hugely from 120-ish to 450-ish.
FA – Open a Command Prompt – do this by clicking on
“Start”
then click on
“Accessories”
then click on
“Command Prompt”
At the prompt, type in
ping shaolintiger.com
You should get something which looks like what ST has shown above. Notice there are some funny numbers –
69.61. 45.98
in the first one, and
64.92.172.122
in the second one.
They’re called IP addresses. If the IP address is the same as the first, then he’s on the oldserver still. If it’s the same as the second, then he’s on the new server.
Hope that helps.
[Sorry can’t be better – yes, I used to write work instructions, but I dont’ have time to do anything with actual images.] 🙂
I get the new server – 174ms.
You should have seen the trace route – From Perth to Adelaide to Sydney, to LosAngles to Dallas to Fortworth to Reverse.layer.tech (where ever that is!) 🙂 lol
Savvis data center, same place as NY stock exchange is hosted (Wall Street)
Yeah all shifted cushdi now, I get 270-280ms pretty much constant.
I usually do Start – Run – cmd
Easier 😀
N4p, mines the best.
Start – Run – type shaolintiger.com
Dont need a cmd to ping or run certain commands from DOS.
