Sleep of the dead..

Man I think I was tired, got back yesterday about 6pm and took a short 2 hour nap, ended up being a little longer than 2 hours and woke up around 7am this morning..

No pics yet sorry 😉 Will endevour not sleep through the whole trip and take some soon.

I tried grabbing some Wireless action in the hotel using Netstumbler[/url] but I think all the access points are filtered by MAC address as I can see them and they aren’t using WEP keys but I can’t connect or get an IP address.

The net is super slow here..even the ‘broadband‘ it makes Stimx seem good (which sucks compared to the DSL I had in UK).

Jakarta is something like a cross between Bangkok (Busy, run-down, full of traffic and pollution) and KL (Shiny, tall buildings, traffic and some trees) depending on which part of the city you are in.

They have some kinda local Tuk-tuks here called bajaj (prounounced Bah Jay) and everyone loves to honk their horns, not as bad as India or Vietnam though where all you can hear are horns. People tend to drive a little slower here and with more determination, everyone just goes, no matter what is in front or to the side of them, there’s been so many near misses I’ve got used to it already and the buses here are just insane, they drive at least double the speed of anyone else and have huge reinforced steel ploughs on the front to bash cars out the way if they are dumb enough to get in front of the bus..

There are some top quality shopping centres here as expected (Ferragamo, Gucci, Versace, Boss, Bvlgari etc..) But not really my kinda places, I’m more a Sungei Wang person than KLCC (Pirated stuff, gadgets and techno music).

I think I’ll head out tonight and check out some scenery.

The guy here was kinda surprised when I told him how much I paid for the chicken noodles (4000rupiah, or less than 2RM) as he said that’s like very bottom local price, perhaps it was because I spoke to the guy in Malay not English..(Yes I can say berapa?)

Anyway kinda starving now, glad it’s not too long to go ’til lunch-time 😉

Report again soon, when I get chance.

hoho Bakso is nice. (Beef Ball Noodle)
    Bakmie also (Chicken noodle)
Pangsit (Wan Tan Mee) <-- different from Malaysia one Nasi Uduk (Like nasi lemak, but really nice) and lots more.. hoho for sungei want type of shopping center, try Manga Dua, and they have new place now called WTC Manga Dua. World Trade Center. I heard it is nice. The internet connection in Indonesia always worst. Never been better. Their upgrade is always slow compare to here and "EXPENSIVE" By the way, wish u a pleasant stay in my countryhood. :p

Hehe if you watch American movies Asian drivers are steretypes as bad, especially Chinese and Japanese for some reason..

I think the ‘fast’ aspect comes from the Tokyo street racers and series like Initial D..
